Our Finest Hour

Friday was a pivotal moment in our mission to empower every parent with the right to select the best education for their child.

While the outcome was not what we hoped, the unity of parents from across TX showing up to the Capitol, sending emails, spreading the message on social media, and supporting the legislators fighting for us on the floor was incredible. Undeterred by the opposition’s irrational defiance, and supported by the parents of Texas, Chairman Buckley and other champion lawmakers fought valiantly for parents across Texas that are struggling to secure the best education for their child.

It is undeniable that we are fighting on the right side of history with the majority of Texans supporting our mission.

Our resolve to empower parents shall not waiver. We will continue our mission until all Texas students are able to receive the best education for their needs.

Below is an adaptation of Churchill’s “Their Finest Hour” speech given after the Fall of France during WWII—a dark moment in history that would propel the British to fight until victorious.

Our opponents will say that the battle is over. But the battle for education freedom is now. Upon this battle depends the survival of the next generation of Texas. Upon it depends our own American way of life—the freedom from tyranny, and the absolute insanity we are witnessing amongst our poorly educated youth. Young Texans failed by a system for too many generations, passed through the system while half of the students cannot read on grade level, indoctrinated against the values that have made America the most prosperous and benevolent country the world has ever seen, and left to wallow in their own ignorance and misery, unable to enjoy the fruits of success and happiness provided in the foundation of our great country.

The whole fury and might of our enemies, those profiteers of billions of our tax dollars, those unions determined to maintain power over our children’s education, those foolish legislators willing to deny children access to a better education to retain election funding and endorsements, and those lobbyists willing to forsake our children’s future to enrich themselves. They know they will have to break us—the moms and dads of Texas—but we cannot be broken. If we can stand united against the profiteers, lobbyists, and weak legislators more concerned about campaign cash than our kids, they shall lose this war. If we can stand up to them and keep fighting for our kids, all of Texas may be free to pursue the best education for their child, our entire public education system can improve, and the future of Texas will flourish by ensuring our kids reach their fullest potential and protect our way of life. But if we fail, then all of Texas could sink into the abyss of a dark new age made more sinister and perhaps more protracted by the lights of perverted science. Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties to continue the fight for our children that if this great state of Texas lasts for a thousand years, Texans will still say ‘This was their finest hour.’

Onward to victory,
